“Little rivers matter too, they need love like me and you Maybe you’ll find a little salmon in there, maybe you’ll find a toad Maybe you’ll find a crab or two, be sure to follow it where it goes Pause for a minute, get lost within it, wander away with the stream Slow down, take your time, maybe you’ll find that Little rivers matter too, they need love like me and you Can you feel in air, it’s everywhere, if we all learn to care, love one and share It’s you, him and she, us, them and we, if one love you want, then one love you see So forget about the anger, forget about the hate, forget about the darkness, what darkness creates Go on, find yourself some love, some light, Forget your wrong, find your right Little rivers matter too, they need love like me and you I been thinking about our future, thinking about our kids, Thinking about the world, the world they’ll have to live It’s back to land, it’s back to the dirt, it’s back to together and from the lessons we’ve learnt We’ll find a new direction, build a new path, a brand new tomorrow, one that’ll last It’ll have to be all for one and one for all cause there’s a hell of a lot of people on this tiny little ball But I said we can do it, I said there’s a way, I said it’s together, I said it’s today Little rivers matter too, they need love like me and you

Give a Dam 03:19
I’ve got a stake in the future, good wishes for my kids, and like a drop in the river, it’s about all the little gives. It’s about fertile farmland, frigid frost, and freedom to the farmers for we haven’t forgot all the simple things in life like food, water and air, looking out for each other and this planet we have, cause this river’s my home and my home is a river and if we care for it now it’ll always deliver food when we need, it’ll rise when it rains, refresh all the soil and so I say (C) It’s like, you signed a Treaty, it was number 8, if you’ve forgotten what you said just listen and wait Cause this is about big things like respect and peace, better to die on your feet than live on your knees If there is one thing I know to be true, it’s that the people here before us, they surely knew How to care for the land, care for each other, the forest is family, the bears are my brothers So hey prime minister if you hear this song, prove a Treaty’s worth more than the hemp it’s written on So whose got a stake?

My heart beats and my heart ages. We will not be separated. On it goes, pages and pages. We will not be separated. I’m here for you, the segregated. We will not be separated. A shelter for you, the lonely and hated. We will not be separated. I love the land like I love my brother. We will not be separated. I’m here for you, you’re here for eachother. We will not be separated. Learn to grow food, no need for wages. We will not be separated. Learn to grow wings, no need for cages. We will not be separated. Learn to let go, it’s dissipating. We will not be separated. Learn to rise up, reawaken. We will not be separated. My heart beats and my ages. We will not be separated. On it goes, pages and pages. We will not be separated.

Wild 03:18
It’s gotta be Wild, it’s gotta be wild Singing for the people out on the frontlines who’ve been fighting for the land this whole damn time After hundreds of years of trying to push em’ aside, it’s time to work together to make things right Find a rhythm in the water, the way the fish thrive, beating like a heart they keep us alive So we’re singing for the Salmon, the life of the land, it’s all we ever had (C) See I have just one wish, for everyone to see the fact that these fish The Chinook, the Pink, the Sockeye and Chum have the power to bring us all together as one So it’s time to take a stand, time to make a choice, choose to raise up the Indigenous voice So we’re singing for the Salmon, the life of the land, it’s all we ever had (C) This really is a chance to make things right, to show us that you’re different, fill the shadows with light Listen to the words of our Indigenous friends, evict the fish farms and we’ll start to mend The horrors of all these colonial ways, just come back and do all that you say We’re singing for the Salmon, the life of the land, it’s all we ever had

Now I'm all for peace and for fighting with words But if you ain't gonna listen then you're gonna get burned I am a non violent anti-petroleum man with my non violent anti petroleum grans’ If you care to join in we'll sing it louder than most you stay outta my rivers get the hell off my coast Cause I ain't goin' nowhere Now I've told you once and i'll tell you again Sooner or later this is all gonna end With you packing up your things, leaving this town And all that'll be left will be your little holes in the ground And I'll fill em' in it's the least I could do Thinking I'll plant a couple cedars maybe a spruce or two Cause I ain't goin nowhere Now I've had enough of your inconsiderate ways Your twisted words and all the slithery things that you say So come down from your castle way up in the sky Put your feet in the dirt and let’s look eye to eye If you don't I'll build a ladder of all the grannies I've met Come up and teach y'all a lesson you won't ever forget I ain't going nowhere

We’re turning the tide, coming together, sticking through all the stormy weather The plan is in motion, we move like the ocean, let the waves take us somewhere better Cause’ I’m done running, I’m done hiding, I’m here with something to say We’re turning the tide to a new day So grab us a kayak, paddle around, from the north down to Puget Sound With the wind as our sail, we’ll dance with the whales, until we’re Salt Spring island bound Then here comes the singer, singing his song, till’ the whole coast is singing along Like turning a tide (C) I’m in love with the islands, in love with the shores, I don’t think I could love em’ anymore In love with the people, in love the towns, in love with the sights, I’m in love with the sounds In love with the feeling, the feeling I get, it’s a feeling I could never forget Like turning a tide (C) It’s gonna get higher

I will float with the clouds up to heaven I will blow with the wind through the trees I will sing with the birds like its nothing I will flow with the river to the sea I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will fight for this coastline forever I would give up both my eyes to save the trees I will break both legs of all the liars Who can see the change a’ coming and don’t believe I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will fight for this coastline forever I would give up both my eyes to save the trees I will break both legs of all the liars Who can see the change a’ coming and don’t believe I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost I will hold on, I am not lost, I am not lost

about

Us is a collection of live songs recorded over a period of 6 months in communities all over the West Coast of North America. In this record are the voices of hundreds of people fighting to protect the planet earth and the systems that sustain them. From rushing rivers to giant cedars, precious farmland and wild salmon, the people along the west coast know what is truly important and worth fighting for. Never have I been so inspired by humanity as I was while traveling and recording these songs. The resiliency and commitment of human beings to stand up for what is right will never be overshadowed.

You are the revolution.
