Brother Why 03:53
All the kids started running saying brother why'm I feeling this way? Its the joy of another, its love undercover and we feel this way All my friends started running their walls come crumbling down They are worked to the bone, their bodies to the ground So we hold, we hold on And we lie with the setting sun And we say thats its all begun So we lie with the setting sun All the kids started running saying brother why'm I feeling this way? Its the joy of another, its love undercover and we feel this way All I see is you on the world spinning around You wanna see like me, get you feet off the ground So we hold, we hold on And we lie with the setting sun And we say thats its all begun So we lie with the setting sun All the kids started running, brother why? All the kids started running, brother why?

What a noisy the place the city's become the pounding of the concrete to the beat of my drum quiet down, everybody quiet down, quiet down come on What a noisy place the city's become the buzzing of machinery has all just begun so quiet down, everybody quiet down, quiet down come on What a busy place our world has become we stack up all the cars reach them up to the sun so slow down everybody slow down, slow down come on We gotta quit pretending not to see what our world has become all the trust has been removed so we'll all just buy guns he puts his finger on the trigger counts 3-2-1 says that'll be that he's all done What a quiet place the world will be when the oceans start to rise and we're all under the sea you and I swimming far beneath, I suppose this is how fate thinks that things are supposed to be

We take it all, leave nothing left for the rest, we are not well The water rose up to our knees we couldn't talk we couldn't breath, we are not well But the coast is clear for know The child's cry drowned out by guns, if nothings said nothings done See through his eyes, walk in his shoes, you are him, he is you, we are not well But the coast is clear for know If you are not, then neither are we If you will not, then neither will we If cannot, then neither can we If you are not, then neither are we (are not well) If you will not, then neither will we (are not well) If cannot, then neither can we (are not well)

Sea to Sky 06:12
look at the day love, look at night look to you heart love, then your left and your right look at the wind love, as it blows from afar look at the moon love ,look at the starts For you are small a spec in time I'll sing ya a song If you'll sing me rhyme look at the clouds love, look at the sky quit looking for death love, or deaths what you'll find lets look at our world, begin asking why from the land to the ocean, the sea to the sky For you are small A spec in time I'll sing you a song If you'll sing me a rhyme The storm will blow from across the way the wind will lead us to a better day the clouds will clear to let the sun say follow my rays to a better day the thunder will roar, the rain will pour the lightning will strike we will scream for more then the clouds will clear to let the sun say follow my rays to a better day

about

I spent the early parts of the summer of 2013 planting trees in northern British Columbia in order to fund this album. I wrote many of these songs in the pouring rain in my tent. They offered me peace and acted as an escape from the bugs. I hope they can do the same for you.

From the Ground Up describes everything from how i paid for the record, to how i wrote the songs, to how i wish to grow as a person and musician. Like the trees i've planted, my feet are rooted in ideas of growth and hope; to spread my music as high and wide as i can, with the simple goal of supplying the world with what i think are the changes that need to occur.
